  1) Question: How do I look at the auction site to see what items are available.

Answer: To Enter the Member's Area you will first need to be Registered. Once you have logged in, click on the Auction link in the navigation bar on the left of your screen and click Auction Home. First to come up is Last Chance items with less than 12 hours to go. Tabs across the top allow you to view Featured Items, Categories, All Listings and Gallery Listings. Ornage Links to the right of your screen allow you to view Current, New, Hot, Dutch and Closed Listings.

6. BIDDERíS OBLIGATIONS (excerpt from Terms & Conditions)
6.1 You agree to comply with any other auction rules set out within this document.
6.2 Bids are not retractable. Please place your bid carefully. If you require more information on an item, please click on the Sellers name within the listing to email them your request BEFORE making a bid.
6.3 By making a bid, you warrant and represent that you have the legal right to enter into and complete the transaction.
6.4 If you are the highest bidder and you are notified by email that your bid has been successful, you must complete the Auction process by receiving the goods, provided your Bartercard account is in good standing and the transaction is not declined.
6.5 You must contact the Seller within seven days of the transaction taking place to organise delivery/collection of the good pursuant to the delivery criteria stated within the respective listing.
6.6 You must collect the goods within twenty-one days from the transaction taking place for goods located NATIONALLY pursuant to the delivery criteria stated within the respective listing.
6.7 You must collect the goods within thirty days from the transaction taking place for goods located INTERNATIONALLY pursuant to the delivery criteria stated within the respective listing.
6.8 You must not place a bid solely with the intention of increasing the Auction items price. If you are reported to the Auction Administrator for bidding in this way your online access may be disabled and the respective listing deleted.
6.9 You must contact your Trade Co-ordinator/Account Manager, in the first instance, within thirty days of a transaction taking place if you have concerns. Please see the Disputes process covered within this document.
6.10 If you consider you have been treated unfairly, you may have a remedy under the laws in force in your jurisdiction. You should seek independent legal advice in such a situation.
 

  3) Question: SELLERíS OBLIGATIONS

Answer:7. SELLERíS OBLIGATIONS
7.1 You must ensure that the goods being offered for sale are accurately described, in your possession at the time of placing the listing and are available in sufficient quantity.
7.2 Placing a listing for goods you have on order, and thus not in your possession at the time of listing, is NOT allowed. Failure to provide the goods to the buyer within the specified timeframe may result in the transaction being reversed at Bartercardís discretion.
7.3 By listing an item, you are making an irrevocable offer to sell at or above your reserve price.
7.4 It is your responsibility to comply with our listing guidelines. The currency of a transaction can not be changed. The currency is stipulated within the listing and unable to be changed once bid have been placed. You accept full responsibility for incorrect or inaccurate listing or for inappropriate listing categorisation.
7.5 You acknowledge that this web site is not made available for auction sales involving illegal or illicit goods, sales that are prohibited by applicable laws, sales of offensive goods (including goods of a defamatory or ethnically objectionable nature), sale of stolen goods which have been illegally imported or sales of goods which would require illegal import or export in order to complete the transaction. All goods listed must be unencumbered. You agree to indemnify us against any liability which we may incur to a third party arising out of the sale or listing of goods or services by you in connection with the auction process. We may delete or refuse to list all goods and services at our discretion.
7.6 If you choose to list Adult or mature audience products the graphics MUST be censored. Failure to do so may result in your listing being deleted.
7.7 You agree not to engage in shill bidding or other forms of manipulating the bidding process. If you are reported to the Auction Administrator for bidding in this way your online access may be disabled and the respective listing deleted.
7.8 You agree not sell the goods listed in any other way until the listing has closed correctly. Failure to comply may result in you being required to supply the exact same goods to the winner of your Auction should there be one.
7.9 You agree not to place multiple listings for the same item if only one item is available.
7.10 You agree not to inflate the starting price of your product. If you are reported to the Auction Administrator for listing in this way in this way your online access may be disabled and the respective listing deleted. However, it is accepted that the end price may be higher than the value of the product due to the Auction process. A bidder will bid what they are prepared to pay.
7.11 You must not bid on your own item or collaborate with another Member to bid on your item with the intention of increasing the price. If you are reported to the Auction Administrator your online access may be suspended and the listing deleted.
7.12 You agree not to engage in bid-siphoning by contacting a bidder in a separate auction and offering to undercut the seller in that auction.
7.13 You will contact the buyer within seven days of the transaction taking place to organise delivery/collection of the goods pursuant to the delivery criteria as stated in the respective listing.
7.14 You will ensure the goods are delivered/collected within twenty-one days from the transaction taking place for goods located NATIONALLY pursuant to the delivery criteria stated within the respective listing. Failure to do so may result in the transaction being reversed.
7.15 You will ensure the goods are delivered/collected within thirty days from the transaction taking place for goods located INTERNATIONALLY pursuant to the delivery criteria stated within the respective listing. Failure to do so may result in the transaction being reversed.
7.16 You agree that when placing a Dutch auction listing, all goods contained within the listing shall be identical.
7.17 You are responsible for retaining documentation showing proof of delivery of all items. Failure to provide this proof upon the request of the Auction Administrator will result in the transaction being reversed.
7.18 You must contact your Trade Co-ordinator/Account Manager, in the first instance, within thirty days of a transaction taking place if you have concerns. Please see the Disputes process contained within this document.

  4) Question: Is there a way I can find out the reserve price?

Answer: The reserve price is set by the seller and remains confidential throughout the auction process. You can see whether the reserve price has been met on an item by checking next to the highest bid.  

  5) Question: Can I withdraw a bid?

Answer: We do not allow bid retraction. Only place a bid if you are serious and willing to purchase the item for the amount of your bid. If you are the winning bidder, you are placed into a LEGALLY BINDING CONTRACT to purchase the item.
You will be released from the contract only if the seller defaults on the contractual item. (non-delivery, defected item etc). If the seller defaults more than once, he/she will not be able to place any more item for sale. .
