Comments: turmed 50 nov. 1995, did not like it, in fact hated it. I don't look 30 or 40 any more. I do like the fact all children grown and moved out. Just lost second job due to company being sold. I'm not worried about getting a new job, I'm sure many are out there. I graduated from a small school in Braggadocia, MO. , 1964. I can't believe anyone out their graduated from this same school, but just in case, let me know. Love this chat

Comments: Growing up during the 60' and 70's was the greatest time. I have learned to be a great parent to my teenagers, remembering what is was like to have grown up in that era. Growing up at that time, dealing with all the changes, has helped me to be friends with my teenagers along with being their parent. I thank my parents for bringing me into the world at that time. With the knowledge I have acquired, I have been able to enlighten my children to become better than their parent to keep evolution going in the right direction. As too many kids are sliding backwards these days. I am proud of my kids and they are proud of me. Love to all the boomers. It was a great time to experience all that era had to give.

Comments: Since I drastically changed my life at age 47 (4 years ago) by joining the Foreign Service myself after 23 years of following my husband around the world and raising two children (daughter 23, married 4 years, grandson 18 months), and son, 16, about to go off to get better acquainted with his own country by spending his last two years of high school at a military boarding school in Florida). Now I'm in Washington, D.C. for a month before dumping my son (Paul- a chatline enthusiast) at school and going off to Nicaragua. My husband's assigned to Madras, India, and my daughter and family just moved from Fairbanks, Alaska to Colorado Springs. I'd love to hear from anyone who did what I did - drastically changing lifestyles/independence/dependence/in the last few years and how it affected them - positive or negative, fears, whatever, and the effect on long-term relationships. This goes for both male and female experiences.

First, nowaday it takes about $1,000,000.00 to retire comfortably and that's WHY we can't retire yet.
Second, if Tony Randall can have the first baby at 72 and Senator John Glenn wants to and volunteers to go up in the Space shuttle again at 75, we at 50 can be kids for a while :) :) :)

Greeting to my fellow Boomers. I was born Jul 13,1948.
I still feel very much the way I did in my college days and

Kind of in the limbo stage, but find life extremely interesting. My husband does not talk much so bought a parrot. The parrot talks, but find he also bites, but then again, so do the kids and the husband. Would love to talk to others also. It is nice to exchange ideas.

Question - Why the pergatory name??
Pergatory is a Server Site that provides a relatively good Guestbook for many and our web site. It is pretty good service. In the next few weeks, we will have our own FORUM on our own server at http://boomersint.org/ which will provide a FORUM with many subject areas where fellow boomers can start Internet discussion by posting messages to each other.
